27 Jun4 Tips To A Beginner's Guide To Makeup

Being a woman often means wearing makeup, heels, waxing, and styling your hair. There are many young women out there, though, that don’t wear makeup or heels or style their hair, but they want to. Here’s a general guideline for beginner’s who want to wear makeup but don’t know how or what to use.

1. Treat Your Face

Before anything else, you should invest in a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer so that your skin is fresh and free of imperfections. My recommendations of a good cleanser for normal skin is the Clinique 3-step skin care system. Step 1 is a facial cleanser that comes in a liquid or bar form. It’s gentle enough to scrub away dirt and skin cells and won’t over dry your skin. Step 2 is Exfoliate with a toner. This will wipe away all the imperfections and make your face clean. The final step is to Moisturize and put back all the good oils that you striped away while washing.

For oily and blemish skin, I recommed using Vichy’s Normaderm Medicated Acne System. Works well for uncomplicated acne such as slight blemishes, pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. It’s also a 3 part system focusing on microdermabrasion to help strip away dead skin cells and reveal new energized skin.

2. Use A Lightweight Foundation
Many drugstore foundations work well to give you a light coverage. Some good brands include Almay Pure Blends, and Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Makeup. Both are light weight, but heavy coverage.

3. Wear Mascara
If you all you do with makeup is wear mascara, then you got it covered. Mascara opens up the eyes and gives you the extra umph to brighten your face. Any mascara will work for you as long as you buy one that doesn’t clump like Revlon’s Fabulush Mascara.

4. Don’t Leave Home Without Lipgloss

To finish off a basic makeup look, douse your lips with a glossy lipgloss. Ones with tint always will make your lips pop. Covergirls’ Wetslicks are a great choice. They are shimmery, fruity and feel like lip balm.
