If you are going to a college far away from where you grew up, you may feel a little daunted and unsure what to do or who to meet. No need to dispair just read on to find out how you can create a great social network in college.

Social Networking In College
- Become Chums With Your Classmates – What better way to make friends and create a wide social network than with the people who have the same interests as you? I suggest sitting in the same spot every time and see who gravitates towards you. If you find that this is unsuccessful, then try moving around and striking up conversations.
- Join An Interest Club – This may not occur for some time to see what subject interests you but start looking around. There could be psychology clubs, women studies clubs or even fashion design clubs! See what you like and join. You will definitely meet an eclectic bunch of people.
- Hang Out At The Local Pubs And Restaurants – This is a great spot to find a group of students. Go with a new person you met in class and try to strike up conversations
- Become Friends With Your Dorm Mates – Only if they aren’t mean or snobby towards you. It’s best if you become friends with your dorm mates and those in the common area as this will increase your social network quickly.
