Both of these coatings produce negative ions which will protect your hair from damage and will replenish your hair with moisture. Another thing to think about is the how hot should the flat iron be before using it. There are many temperature settings on flat irons so finding the perfect temperature can take some time and trial and error. For a general guideline, if you have normal hair you want it to read between 360-380 F. If you have coarse, thick or curly hair you want a slightly hotter temperature of 380 to 410 F.
